Ormyl was exhausted. He had spent days traveling through the great expanse.
"God, how big is this freaking plain?" The wolf muttered to himself. He swept up his paw and weakly attempted to wipe some of the grime off his forehead through his moderately thick fur. His vision slightly blurred by heat, he stumbled forward.
A small pond entered his vision, about twenty yards away. He pulled himself towards the pond. he reached down, got a few gulps of water in his system. A small pile of vomit erupted from his chest. He staggered a little bit, then collapsed, heat exhaustion taking it's toll.

Wolvenfire trotted contently across the grassy plains of the territory, a small rabbit between his powerful jaws. 'Good thing I went on this solo patrol to excersise; this is the perfect gift for Izareih.' The oversized brute thought, his tail swishing with a bit of joy.

'I hope she likes me... maybe then I'd have a good chance with her.' The large raven-black wolf stopped in his tracks, shaking his head to rid the thought.

'Sister was right; there's really no telling about me when it comes to that fae.' He finallized, smiling to himself, before continuing with his trot. 'I hope I get to go on next year's trek back home; Silverstar will accompany that one!' His happy thoughts halted to a stop when his ears perked up at the sound of water rippling.

'Sounds like someone's drinking... I wonder who?'

Silently, Wolvenfire made his way down a hill, coming to a small pond. Golden-green eyes widened at the scene before them.

There, off the bank of said pond, was a male black wolf, looking as if he had collapsed in exghastion.

'That might just be the case; it is a pretty hot day.' The brute thought to himself, making his way over to the small male.

Reaching over, Wolvenfire gently prodded the male's side with his massive paw, attempting to wake him up.

"Hey buddy, you okay?"

Ormyl's eyes slowly opened."ugh, what happened?" The small black wolf slowly pulled himself up on his feet. He turned to the other wolf,"thanks." He started to stumble away, but collapsed after a few feet. "maybe this wasn't such a good idea," he spoke, more to himself, than the wolf who helped him.

Wolvenfire tilted his head when the small male said his thanks, watching warily as he got up from his spot. 'That's probably not a good idea...'

His hunch was right.

The male tumbled to the ground, making Wolvenfire wince, before he got up himself, walking over to him. The large brute placed his rabbit before the male's face, nudging it in his direction.

"You can have that; you may need it more than I do." The brute said, giving the male a kind smile.

'Huh. This is the first time another male isn't afraid of me. Maybe... he could be a friend?'

The brute shook out his mane before sitting down, giving another friendly smile. "My name is Wolvenfire. What's yours?"

"Thank you," The small wolf spoke," I'm Ormyl." He bit into the rabbit and felt some of his strength return.
Ormyl turned his head to the wolf, his brown tipped ear twitched slightly,"do you know where I can find the Orion pack?"

(Sorry, I used the wrong account. ;-.-)

Wolvenfire listened intently as the other male told his name, calling himself Ormyl. The brute smiled.

"Pleased to meet you."

As he spoke of finding the Orion pack, the raven-black brute let out a loud laugh, throughing his head back and baring his fangs as he did so. Afterward, Wolvenfire grinned at him, his golden-green eyes twinkling with amusement.

"Well now! Consider yourself a ball of luck, 'cause you're looking at an Orion wolf at the moment." He said cheerily, tilting his head slightly.

"As you can see, I'm built for the warrior post, and I just so happen to be patrolling these parts, ending up finding you. Good thing too, eh?" With a friendly smile, Wolvenfire got up, waiting for Ormyl to do the same.

"Come on; I'll take you to our densite. Maybe you can tell me more about yourself on the way. You know, so we can be friends."

Wolvenfire looked at the ground for a moment. "Truth be told, you're the first male wolf that didn't suspect me of being vicious... and I thank you for it." The black brute nodded his head in geniune thanks, before motioning to follow.

"Well? Shall we go?"

[Wheeeeee!]

Frostbite padded quietly through the plains, her navy pelt and sparkling spotted back appearing and disappearing in the tall grass despite her height, tail poking up from time to time within the expanse of wavering gold like a periscope. She was.... *ahem* Patrolling the border. More like playing at the border. Frost continued her escapades for awhile until her keen sense of hearing picked up on a few voices.

""Well? Shall we go?"
"Thanks.... and umm... You never told me your name..."

The first voice could only be Wolvenfire, Frost knew his beast of a call anywhere. The second, however, was a mystery. She snuck to the edge of the tall grass, peeking her midnight blue head and speckled maw out to peer at the pair. Definitely the huge black brute was Wolvenfire, but the much smaller male at his side was an unknown. The fae sniffed at their scents, and didn't pick up any Red or Grey paw tinges.... just one of sickness. Frost made a face, sticking her tongue out and squinting her eyes. The little one obviously hadn't been feeling well. A devious thought crossed her mind, and she slipped quietly back into the tall grass, quietly approaching the pair.

As soon as the she was in range, Frostbite practically burst out of the tall grass, leaping clear over the smaller wolf, and landed standing professionally upon Wolvenfire's back. One could almost imagine the score-givers holding up big white cards with numbers ranging through 8-10, and one 5 because that judge is screwy.

"Hey, Wolvenfire." She said, grinning all across her maw after her perfect landing. "How's Iz and Earth?" She suddenly glanced down at the small male from her perch atop the giant Etutsian brute, and asked kindly, "And who might you be...?"

Wolvenfire may have been frostbite's intended victem, but it hit Ormyl the hardest. as the navy wolf lept on wolvenfire, Ormyl lept backwards hoping for better safety. Unfortunately behind him was the watering hole. With a great splash for such a small wolf, Ormyl hit the water.

The sopping wet wolf dragged himself out, ears drooping on his head.
"I'm Ormyl," he responded to frostbite's question.
Are all pack wolves this energetic? He wondered to himself.

"Oh, sorry about that! I'm Wolvenfire."

Wolvenfire let out a small grunt when a bit of weight landed on his back, making the big brute look up at the newcomer. He smiled when he saw Frostbite perching on his form, making him laugh a bit.

"Good to see you, Frostbite!" He said, rolling his shoulders to jostle her playfully. As she asked about Izareih and Earthsong, the brute shrugged, giving her another smile.

"Izareih's fine, and she's at the densite. As for Earthsong, she's on the yearly trek to our original home in the mountains. I'm still too young, but next year, I get to go with them." He said, wagging his tail.

His wagging, however, stopped when he heard a splash, making the large raven-black brute to turn around. His golden-green gaze landed on the wet form of Ormyl, making him chuckle at the site.

"You okay there, Ormyl?"

The navy fae laughed when Wolvenfire shifted about, and she avoided falling off her perch. At the splash Frost turned in sync with Wolvenfire, and stifled a laugh as Ormyl slipped back up the bank, his dark coat sopping wet, and then identified himself for her.

"Ahh.... well..... nice to meet you.... and are you gonna be okay?" She chuckled, echoing Wolvenfire's words. She grinned again, surveying the soaked male with her icy blue hues, remembering his scent and small form. He was oddly small, especially for a male.

"He wants to join the Orions, doesn't he?" She asked Wolvenfire, turning to him and literally ending up nose to nose with the brute.

Ormyl turrned to Wolvenfire. "I'm fine," he spoke," at least it cooled me off a bit."
He wanted to answer the newcomer, but all of his shy nature prevented him from speaking to the she wolf, he decided to let wolvenfire answer for him.
"so... eh... Wolvenfire, how far away's the orion camp?" The shy black wolf asked, still kind of jumpy after frostbite's sudden enterance.

"Yes. I'm taking him to the den." Wolvenfire answered, chuckling as he heard Ormyl say something about cooling down. 'So, kind of a shy one, eh?' He thought with a bit of amusement.

'I can't blame him; anyone would be shy towards Frost's energy.' He joked to himself, shrugging his powerful shoulders.

Ears twitched when the charcoal-black wolf asked about the densite's location, and Wolvenfire shrugged again.

"I may know where it is, but I don't really know how far I am. I've been out here for hours for my daily trot. For all I know, we could be about two hours away, or only 5 minutes."

He looked at the she-wolf perched on his back. "Frost, how far is the densite from here?"

(sry frost, got kinda bored o waiting - -' )
Ormyl sat still as frostbite told them the distance. He got up and silentely started to trot off in the direction wolvenfire hat pointed. The small wolf soon fell back behind the larger wolves. He figured they'd get less stares heading into the densite then he, a minuscule newcomer. Soon the main densite was in view.

Wolvenfire watched with curiousity as his new friend treked behind him slowly, as if nervous.

"Hey, what're you nervous about?" He asked the small male, looking back at him with a grin. "Is it because your size?" The brute stopped and waited until the mini-wolf was next to him, their sizes contrasting strongly.

"Believe me when I say the stares, though slightly unnerving, isn't all that bad. At least, that way, you can meet a lot of new wolves. I personally think you'd be a good addition to the pack; we need a swift one around these parts these days, eh?"

The brute chuckled to himself, careful not to let Frost drop from his back, as he gave Ormyl a smile.

Ormyl didn't completely agree with Wolvenfire, his height wasn't the only problem, he didn't know how the Orion pack dealt with newcomers. He had no clue how to act around a pack, as he had grown up along the outskirts of the territory. But height was also a large problem in his mind.

He had heard of far off lands, where pups deemed to be weak were killed. A shiver ran down the small wolf's spine. Where the Orions like this? The wolves he had met seemed friendly enough. How would the others react, a runt, possibly joining their pack?

He cleared his mind of all the dark doubts, and tried to be as bold as possible. It was harder than it sounded. He fell back into a mindset of worse uncertainty.

The black wolf's head jerked up with a nudge from wolvenfire, they were at the boundary of the densite. A large lump stuck in his throat as he stepped forward.
